All the Literature Educate!

Sat Feb 8, 2014, 3:39 PM

:new: Updated 26/02

Over the past few years, projecteducate has worked hard to provide educational articles for various art forms. Within literature, we've seen our fair share and over the past 2 years we've used our own group CRLiterature to manage these articles to ensure as much of the community can see them. However, sometimes we miss people and that's a shame because the articles we've written as a community have been pretty spectacular and still valid today.

So to help people pick up the articles they may have missed, here is a list of them all! This is a great chance for you to read what you may have missed, or tag your friends who may find them useful!

The Articles:

Poetry Basics Week November 2013

Story Planning Week June 2013

Poetry Forms Week March 2013

Critique week January 2012

Literature Week January 2011

Literature Week March 2008

Other stuff

:star: I will attempt to update this for future articles- and if you notice one missing, let me know and I shall add it!

Question time!

  • Which articles above have helped you personally or you found useful/insightful?
  • What kind of articles interest you the most (i.e. interviews)?
  • If we hold future PE weeks, what areas would you like to see covered (not already above)?
  • And for future reference in case we need to call upon you to help write future PE articles- are you a subject expert or enthusiast in any form, style genre or aspect of literature or the literature community and if so what?
  • Draw and muro dinosaur if you can't answer any of the above or just fancy drawing a dinosaur.

We've held many fabulous PE weeks in the literature community over time- this article is a reference of all of those and an encouragement to draw dinosaurs. (yes, dinosaurs)

A very handy reference! I'd like to see an article expounding on the technique of extended metaphor.

Haha, because I didn't put in any effort in drawing him. Usually I take a very long time on my drawings, but this little dino is just a doodle.

I love articles on technique. That way, I can listen to the smart people and soak up all their knowledge.

I seem to be specializing in Mary Sues, since I keep writing more about them in my tutorials and other works. So I guess I could be the lit community Mary Sue correspondent. :grump: Or I could put aside my delusions of grandeur and continue being the senseless fiction tutorial lady whom everyone humors. ;P

For some reason I'm quite fond of that worldbuilding article. Who knows why? Confused

I like douchy literary articles, but I feel like it's unfair to try and force them on other people. I'm still pretty convinced that the effects of time/distance on third person narration would be a fun article for ME and no one else.

That being said: Mood. Tone. Articles on gaining control over those aspects of writing would be great to see here.

I like fiction! So much fiction. Ask me to write things about fiction and I'll do it! Those mood and tone pieces I'm on about, even.

Deinonychus is my favourite dinosaur, but I'm not much of a visual artist. Anyway, this is a great resource and I'm already reading through them again.
